Una niña muere en brazos de la hermana Cecilia, que la encuentra entre unos matorrales después de haber sido brutalmente agredida. Este incidente dispara las alarmas de la religiosa sobre el funcionamiento del proyecto humanitario en el poblado donde trabaja, una zona devastada por la violencia y las múltiples necesidades de asistencia a los niños y refugiados. El suceso será el punto de partida de un intenso viaje emocional sobre sus principios éticos y de la fe.
